Welcome to Claude Code Notifier! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Claude Code Notifier apps for iOS and Android ("the Companion Apps"), ccn, the command line tool for macOS, Linux and Windows ("ccn"), the Claude Code Notifier menu bar app for macOS ("the macOS App"), and the relay server that connects them, collectively referred to as "the Apps". The Apps are provided by TouchTap Ltd ("we," "us," or "our").
01Description of Service
Claude Code Notifier is a notification system designed to work with Claude Code (Anthropic's command-line coding tool). The service consists of:
- Claude Code Notifier Companion (iOS/Android): Mobile apps that receive notifications from your computers and let you answer Claude Code prompts remotely.
- ccn (macOS, Linux and Windows): A command line tool that Claude Code runs through its hooks. It sends notifications when Claude finishes or needs your attention, and can make Claude Code wait for your answer from the phone. It is installed with a script from this website, with Homebrew, or with npm.
- Claude Code Notifier (macOS): An optional menu bar application that does the same job on a Mac, and can also show Mac notifications and send webhooks.
- Cloud Relay Service: A server-side component that passes notifications and answers between your computers and mobile devices, and keeps each computer's settings.
02License Grant
2.1ccn
ccn is provided free of charge. Its source code is published on GitHub under the PolyForm Shield License 1.0.0. That license lets you use, change and share ccn, for personal or commercial purposes, as long as you keep its copyright notice and do not use ccn to provide a product that competes with Claude Code Notifier.
The PolyForm Shield License, not these Terms, governs your use of ccn's source code. These Terms govern your use of our relay server and the Companion Apps together with ccn.
2.2macOS Application
The macOS App is provided free of charge. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the macOS App on devices you own or control
- Use the macOS App for personal or commercial purposes
2.3Companion Applications
The Companion Apps are free to download. Using them requires an active subscription or a lifetime purchase. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the Companion Apps on your personal mobile devices
- Use the Companion Apps with ccn or the macOS App
- Purchase subscriptions or one-time purchases to unlock the Companion Apps
2.4Restrictions
Except as allowed for ccn's source code in 2.1, or by applicable law, you agree not to:
- Copy, modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the Apps
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Apps
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the Apps
- Distribute, sublicense, lease, rent, or lend the Apps to third parties
- Use the Apps in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Use the Apps to transmit malicious code or interfere with our services
- Circumvent any technological measures designed to control access to the Apps
03Purchases and Licensing
3.1ccn and the macOS App
ccn and the macOS App are free to download and use. A licence bought on our website (3.7) is optional: it unlocks the Companion Apps on the phones paired with the computers that hold it.
3.2Companion App Access
The Companion Apps are free to download, but receiving mobile notifications and sending responses from your mobile device requires one of: an active subscription (including a free trial) or a lifetime purchase made in the app through Apple or Google, or a licence bought on our website (3.7). They all unlock the Companion Apps in the same way. If you bought an earlier version of the iOS app, you keep access without a subscription. ccn and the macOS App remain free to use without any purchase.
3.3Companion App In-App Purchases
To unlock the Companion Apps, you may purchase one of the following:
- Yearly Subscription: An auto-renewable yearly subscription that provides full access to the Companion Apps while active. Eligible new subscribers may start with a free trial
- Monthly Subscription: An auto-renewable monthly subscription that provides full access to the Companion Apps while active
- Lifetime Purchase: A one-time, non-consumable purchase that provides full access to the Companion Apps permanently
We may sometimes offer a reduced price for the first year of the yearly subscription. The offer price, how long it lasts, and the price it renews at are shown before you confirm the purchase.
These purchases are processed through:
- iOS: Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service
- Android: Google Play and are subject to Google Play's Terms of Service
3.4Subscription Terms
If you purchase a subscription:
- Billing: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Free Trial: If your subscription includes a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription will convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged at the end of the trial
- Payment: Payment will be charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
- Renewal: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the subscription price
- Management: You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's App Store or Google Play settings
- Cancellation: If you cancel, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which you will no longer be able to receive mobile notifications or send responses from the Companion Apps
- Price Changes: Subscription prices may change. We will notify you of any price changes, and you will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect
3.5Lifetime Purchase Terms
If you purchase the lifetime unlock:
- Permanent Access: The purchase grants permanent access to the Companion Apps
- No Recurring Charges: This is a one-time purchase with no subscription or recurring fees
- Device Transfer: Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID or Google account and can be restored on any device signed into that account
3.6Refunds for In-App Purchases
All in-app purchase refunds are handled by Apple or Google respectively. We do not process refunds directly for in-app purchases. To request a refund:
- iOS: Contact Apple Support or use the Report a Problem feature in your purchase history
- Android: Contact Google Play Support or request a refund through your Google Play order history
3.7Licences Bought on Our Website
You can also unlock the Companion Apps with a licence bought on claudecodenotifier.com/licence or with ccn unlock. Our reseller Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for these sales: it takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues the receipt, and its own terms apply to the purchase.
- Plans: An annual licence renews every year until you cancel it, and a lifetime licence is a single payment. Prices are shown before you pay. You can switch an annual licence to lifetime and keep the same key
- What a Licence Covers: One licence may be active on up to 3 computers running
ccnat a time, for your own use. Every phone paired with one of those computers is unlocked while the licence is valid. The macOS App cannot hold a licence - Your Key: The licence key is personal. Do not share, publish or resell it. To stop a key being passed around, we limit how often a licence can move between computers, and we may disable a key that has been shared publicly
- Cancelling an Annual Licence: Cancel at any time through the link in your receipt or on the licence page. The licence keeps working until the end of the year you paid for. If a renewal payment fails, the licence keeps working while Lemon Squeezy retries it
- Lifetime: A lifetime licence lasts for as long as we provide the Companion Apps and the relay service, not for a fixed period
- Erasing a Licence: You can erase a licence yourself on the licence page. That ends it for good and stops an annual plan renewing; it is not a refund (see 3.8)
- Separate From In-App Purchases: A licence is not linked to your Apple ID or Google account, and an in-app subscription is not linked to a licence. Buying one does not cancel or refund the other
3.8Refunds for Licences
Licences come with a 14-day money-back guarantee: if you ask within 14 days of a purchase or renewal, we will refund it in full. The guarantee is for people who tried the licence and it was not right for them, so we may decline repeated or abusive requests. Reply to your receipt or email [email protected]. After 14 days we refund where the law requires it. A refunded licence, or one whose payment is reversed by your bank, stops working straight away on every computer and phone. Refunding a switch to lifetime returns the licence to the annual year you had already paid for.
04Account and Device Pairing
4.1Device Pairing
There are no user accounts. To use mobile notifications, you pair your mobile device with each computer. Pairing requires:
- ccn or the macOS App installed on your computer
- The Companion App installed on your mobile device
- An internet connection on both devices
- A pairing code. With ccn, the Companion App shows a 6-digit code and the command to run, and you enter it on the computer; ccn can also show a code or QR code that you enter or scan on the phone. With the macOS App, the Mac shows a QR code or a code that you scan or enter on the phone. A code the Mac shows expires after 5 minutes; a code or QR code that ccn shows, and a code the phone showed, can be used for 24 hours
Up to three mobile devices can be paired with each computer. When you install ccn, it adds its hooks to Claude Code's user settings file (~/.claude/settings.json) and keeps a one-time backup of that file. Until you pair a phone, ccn shows notifications on the computer itself and sends nothing about your sessions to our server.
4.2Pairing Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device pairings. You should:
- Only pair devices you personally own or control
- Revoke pairings for devices you no longer use or have lost
- Not share pairing codes with others
4.3Revoking Pairings
You may revoke device pairings at any time from the Companion Apps, with ccn devices or ccn uninstall, or in the macOS App. Revoking a pairing will:
- Stop notifications from being sent to that device
- Mark the pairing as revoked in our cloud service, which deletes it 60 days later
- Leave any pending notifications to be deleted on the usual schedule, within 48 hours
05Cloud Relay Service
5.1Service Description
Our cloud relay service connects your computers and paired mobile devices. The service:
- Receives notification data from ccn or the macOS App
- Delivers push notifications to your mobile devices
- Relays your responses back to your computer
- Stores each computer's settings, so you can change them from your mobile device
- Stores notifications temporarily, deleting them within 48 hours
5.2Answering from Your Phone
When you are away from the keyboard, ccn can make Claude Code wait for your answer from the phone, for up to the time set for that computer (10 minutes unless you change it). An approval, choice or instruction you send from your mobile device is passed to Claude Code as if you had given it at the computer. You are responsible for the answers you send, and for what Claude Code does after you approve a request. If no answer arrives in time, or the connection fails, Claude Code continues as it normally would and asks in the terminal.
5.3Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the cloud relay service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Unplanned outages
- Network issues beyond our control
- Actions by third-party service providers
5.4Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the cloud relay service at any time with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.
06Webhook Integrations
The macOS App allows you to configure webhooks to forward notifications to external services (such as Slack, Discord, or custom endpoints). ccn does not send webhooks. By configuring webhooks, you acknowledge that:
- You are responsible for the security and privacy practices of the external services
- Notification data, including potentially sensitive project information, will be transmitted to those services
- We are not responsible for how external services handle your data
- You must comply with the terms of service of any external services you integrate
07Data and Privacy
Your use of the Apps is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Apps, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
7.1Sensitive Information
- Whether to pair a mobile device (which sends data through our cloud service), and which kinds of notification to turn on for each computer
- Whether to configure webhook integrations (which forward data to external services)
- Your organisation's policies regarding data transmission to third-party services
7.2Data Retention
ccn deletes its session files when a session ends, or after 7 days without use. Session history in the macOS App is retained according to your configured settings (default: 30 days). Notifications in our cloud service are automatically deleted within 48 hours. If a phone or computer is not used for 60 days, our cloud service deletes its records, settings and pairings, and you will need to pair it again to keep using it. Purchase records are kept for 6 years from their date, then deleted.
08Intellectual Property
8.1Our Intellectual Property
The Apps, including all content, features, functionality, designs, documentation and source code, are owned by TouchTap Ltd and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Publishing ccn's source code does not transfer ownership of it. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission.
8.2Third-Party Intellectual Property
"Claude" and "Claude Code" are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. The Apps are independent tools designed to work with Claude Code.
8.3Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Apps, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback into the Apps without any obligation to you.

We do not warrant that:
- The Apps will meet your specific requirements
- The Apps will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free

- Any errors in the Apps will be corrected
9.3Third-Party Dependencies
The Apps depend on third-party services including Apple (APNs, App Store), Google (FCM, Google Play), Cloudflare, and GitHub, and ccn can be installed through Homebrew or npm. We are not responsible for the availability, reliability, or performance of these third-party services.
9.4Claude Code Compatibility
The Apps are designed to work with Claude Code as of the date of release. We cannot guarantee compatibility with future versions of Claude Code. Changes to Claude Code by Anthropic, including to its hooks, may affect the functionality of the Apps.
10Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TOUCHTAP LTD, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Apps
- Any damages arising from unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
- Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the Apps in the 12 months prior to the claim
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
11Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TouchTap Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of the Apps
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your webhook configurations and any data transmitted to external services
12Termination
12.1Termination by You
You may stop using the Apps at any time by uninstalling them and revoking any device pairings. ccn uninstall does both for ccn.
12.2Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Apps or cloud services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include:
- Violation of these Terms
- Suspected fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse of the cloud relay service or other services
12.3Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the Apps is immediately revoked
- You must uninstall all copies of the Apps
- We may delete your data from our cloud services
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive will continue to apply
13Updates and Modifications
13.1App Updates
We may release updates to the Apps from time to time. The Companion Apps are updated through the App Store and Google Play. ccn keeps itself up to date: about once a day, when a Claude Code session starts, it asks our server for the newest release and, if it was installed with the install script from this website or with npx, downloads the new version from GitHub, verifies its checksum and replaces its own program file. A copy installed with a package manager (Homebrew, npm, Scoop or winget) is never replaced; ccn only prints the command to run. You can turn automatic updates off with ccn config set auto_update off or by setting CCN_NO_AUTO_UPDATE=1. The macOS App includes automatic update functionality through Sparkle, which you may configure in the application settings.
13.2Terms Updates
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, through the Apps or by email. Your continued use of the Apps after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
14.1Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
14.2Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Apps shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14.3Time Limitation
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Apps must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or be forever barred.
15General Provisions
15.1Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TouchTap Ltd regarding the Apps and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
15.2Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15.3Waiver
No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term. Our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
15.4Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
15.5No Third-Party Beneficiaries
Except as set out in section 17, these Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights in any individual or entity.
